astrology
My astrology practice started out as a personal one, one for reflection and self-inquiry. The more I practiced, learned, and explored for myself, the more I came to appreciate its constant invitations to make rituals of those things--practicing, learning, and exploring for myself. I also found it extremely romantic that the planets could be co-conspirators in self-awareness--cheering me on in my consistent reflections at each new and full moon, each transit an invitation to notice what my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs are doing in this current moment, and how they relate to the life I want for myself--or not.
So many ways to celebrate my strengths and take compassionate looks at my wounds--the planets don't tell me who I am, they invite me to view myself as an expansive constellation, a stellar fleeting body of stardust to be gazed at with wonder and appreciation for its constant changes and steadfast cycles. I approach my astrology practice as a relationship with time that divests from the the one thrust upon and weaponized against us by capitalism.
I'm more interested in the cyclical patterns of the characteristics of time--reflected in rather than controlled by the movements of and relationships between celestial bodies.
I relate to astrology as an invitation to live out our questions--allowing wisdom, insight, and intuitions to emerge from our inner wellsprings and outer environments.
